Chinese Combo

Chinese Combo
location: Tucson, AZ
This is a Chinese and Vietnamese restaurant. The food was pretty tasty AND you got a TON of it. We ordered lo mein, orange chicken, egg rolls, and beef with broccoli. Everything was delicious except for the beef. It tasted a little old... But it may have been because we got to the restaurant right before they closed... It was probably just the last little bit of their food that we got. But man it really was a lot. You the big styrofoam containers they give you at regular restaurants? We had three completely full to the brim with food. The pricing was average for Chinese food, but we go a ton of food so the pricing was more than fair. Yum.

Mama's

Mama's
location: Huntington Beach, California (Pier 39)
This was a little, homestyle restaurant right near the beach. It had a wide range of food options - hamburgers, tacos, etc. We had a hamburger and a taco and both were quite delicious. We enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere had a fun, beach-like feel. The food was fairly priced and very tasty. We were glad we accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant.

Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice: Grill and Bar
locations: Various
This restaurant is really cool. It is a buffet style restaurant where you walk up to a bar of raw foods. Veggies, meats, pasta, rice, all kinds of stuff. You pick your foods, choose sauces to put on them and have this guy who stands in the middle of the room at this giant grill, grill up everything for you. You can do hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, pasta, stir-fry, soup, salad, and pretty much anything else you want. Everything we ate was delicious. We chose what was in our meal but the sauces were theirs and the chef cooked it all up to order. It was all incredibly tasty. We were more than satisfied with our meal at this restaurant, and we ate way more than we should have.

Joe's Crab Shack

Joe's Crab Shack
location: Various
We ate at Joe's Crab Shack our first night in California and we ordered a whole bunch of food. Everything we had was good. We had calamari, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp, fish, rice, and a whole bunch of other foods. Like I said, we ordered a feast! The pricing was fair for seafood. We were not disappointed by anything we had. However, I don't know that the food would be nearly as good if it wasn't all freshly caught. But maybe it would? Who knows! Either way it was very tasty!

Blue Bayou

The Blue Bayou
location: Disneyland, California
We ordered an appetizer of jimbalaya and it was delicious. We ordered the Monte Cristo Sandwich as our main dish and it was absolutely phenomenal. Holy cow. Ham and swiss cheese sandwiched between two slices of bread, battered and deep fried, powdered with sugar, a delectable cream sauce and two fruit sauces on the side to dip it in. Oh my goodness I'm salivating just thinking about it. Dessert for dinner? I think so. Wow so good. This restaurant is located right in the middle of the Pirates of the Carribbean ride at Disneyland. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. I loved that the lighting was low and they had music playing, it was like a little city street down in New Orlean's. It was so fun. The only negative to this restaurant? The pricing! WOW it's expensive. But is it worth it? Absolutely. Will I want to go there every single time I return to Disneyland from now on? You betcha! Oh man it was just fantastic.

Viva Burrito

Viva Burrito
location: Tucson, AZ
We have this friend, Dave, who absolutely LOVES Viva Burrito. The other day I was hanging out with his wife Kari and Dave was like "Want to stay for dinner? Viva?" I love that I knew exactly what he meant. Haha. So we finally agreed to try Viva. We ordered some super nachos, a chicken tostada, and cheese enchilada. Everything we had was good. But those nachos?? OH MY GOODNESS. So they take one of those to go boxes you get at pretty much any restaurant and they fill it to the top with chips, cheese, steak, refried beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole. We couldn't stop eating it! We ate every single piece of meat and cheesy chip in that box. I felt like I gained 10 pounds from eating all of that food. It was all delicious. Mmm mm. And price wise it was very fair. Most everything on the menu was between 3 dollars and 7 dollars. You definitely got your moneys worth. If you ever find yourself in Tucson, this would be a good place to find a meal :).

Hot Rods

Hot Rods
location: Tucson, AZ
We went here with some friends the other day and everything that was ordered looked super delicious! I ordered a white pizza and it was seriously the bomb. It cost $8.50 for a 10" pie, which is pretty fair. And they had classic, whole wheat, and gluten-free options for crust. All of their sandwiches have gluten-free options as well. But only whole wheat pizza crust. Still, my pizza rocked my world. And everything on the menu was probably between 7 and 15 bucks. So it was well priced :). The restaurant is also really cool inside. They have a car shop set up right there in the middle of the restaurant. It was pretty cool!

Guilin Chinese Restaurant

Guilin Chinese Restaurant
location: Tucson, AZ
This is a vegetarian friendly Chinese restaurant. Normally not the type of restaurant we would pick for ourselves, but we went with friends on a vegan diet. We got an appetizer sampler of all deep fried vegetables, garlic chicken, and Thai style fish. Everything we got was delicious. The prices were fair, probably pretty comparable to average Chinese restaurant prices. We really enjoyed this food. I was surprised how good it was. I had to lay down for a couple hours after because I was SO FULL. It really was delicious. MM Hmm.

Magpies

Magpies
location: Tucson, AZ
YUMMY. Magpies is your classic pizza joint except for one very special thing. It has several options for the type of crust. You can get classic, whole wheat, or gluten-free. It is a little more expensive than lets say... Little Caesar's or Dominoes... But it's probably pretty comparable to Pizza Hut and other nicer pizza places. About 17 bucks for a medium pizza which is about the same size as a large at the cheaper places. And I have to say it is ABSOLUTELY delicious! OH MY GOSH. Russ and I couldn't stop eating! The sauce was delish, the crust was delish, and all the toppings rocked my world, just a bit! Everything about this restaurant was yummy. Seriously good eats! :)

Guadalajara

Guadalajara: Fiesta Grill
location: Tucson, AZ
Russ and I were lucky enough to host his adorable little sister Tacy at our house for 3 days this last weekend. We decided that one of the things we HAD to do while she was here was go to a Mexican restaurant. We decided to try a new restaurant, Guadalajara: Fiesta Grill! We sat down and ordered a bunch of food. This cute little Mexican lady came over and made us some fresh salsa right there in front of us. And it was really quite delicious. We ate so much we could barely fit the appetizer we ordered. It was this cheesy fondue type dish with some ground beef on top. Which we in turn ate so much of we were practically bursting before our actual food even got to us! But it all looked and smelled SO good that we HAD to try it. Even if it did lead to us exploding! Which it ALMOST did. It was THAT good. Man. It was absolutely fantastic. MMM. So I would say this restaurant is DELISH and price wise, comparable to your average Mexican food restaurant. Definitely go here if you are in Tucson and desperately in the mood for Mexican, or even just slightly in the mood, it's worth it! :)
p.s. We went to this restaurant again this last weekend (March 1) and everything we ordered was FANTASTIC, once again. This restaurant is seriously a MUST if you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods! :)

J Dawgs

J Dawgs
location: Provo, UT
Okay I lived in Provo for 5 years and I NEVER went to J Dawgs. But FINALLY during our last trip to Utah we got to stop at J Dawgs and try out their famous hot dogs. YUM. Man they were good. They had this huge juicy hot dogs and sausages and they have a yummy sweet and sour type sauce. It's a special sauce and it is quite delicious. The hot dogs were about $3.50 each I believe... So expensive for a hot dog but not a bad price for all the food you get. If you're ever in Provo go to J Dawgs! Especially if you like hot dogs! :)

Five Guys Burgers and Fries

Five Guys Burgers and Fries
location: various
Do you like In-N-Out? This restaurant is kind of like that when you look at the menu. There aren't a lot of different options on the menu and they're all fairly simple. Burger, double burger, triple burger, fries, etc... I have to say that the toppings were all very tasty. The burgers were big and juicy and full of flavor. They give you a TON of fries. Buy a small to split and you will have more than enough. The food is very yummy for a greasy burger joint. :) It is a little more expensive than most  burger places. But the food was delicious enough that we will definitely be going back! :)

Potosino

Potosino
location: Tucson, AZ
Just some more Mexican Food! This one was pretty good. We've had better, but it was pretty tasty. There's nothing really unique I can say about this restaurant... You got a lot for your money. The burrito's were SO big. I would probably eat there again. :)

Rosati's Pizza

Rosati's Pizza
location: various
We ordered pizza, hot wings, a salad, and canoli. Everything was absolutely delicious! I LOVED all of it. We spent about 35 dollars so it was a pretty decent price for what we got. There was a lot of food and it was all very tasty. This place is right across the street from our apartment so unfortunately, we will probably be eating there again! Too good! Too bad it's not as healthy as it is yummy... :)

Pinnacle Peak

Pinnacle Peak
location: Tucson, AZ
We have this little old fashioned Western town here in Tucson called trail dust town and they have this little restaurant that is casual, casual. In fact, they cut off your tie if you wear one! There were ties pinned to the walls all around the room. The atmosphere is definitely what you go to this restaurant for. The food was decent, but they over-charge you for all their worth. I think we spent about 40 dollars or so? So... Kinda pricey. It was a fun restaurant to go to once, but I probably wouldn't go there again.

Mi Nidito

Mi Nidito
locations: Tucson, AZ
This restaurant my be in the scary part of town but OH MY GOSH  IT IS GOOD. SERIOUSLY. Man, we ordered a cheese tostadas, enchilada, tamale, and taco. All of it was delicious!! Oh my goodness. This place has been on a few cooking shows on t.v. because it is incredible! And apparently famous. Haha. Anyway, it is to die for! I would definitely go there sometime! The prices are fairly average for Mexican food. I'd say about 10-15 bucks a plate! Good stuff. Mmmm... Now I'm craving My Nidito. YUM.

Poco and Mom's

Poco and Mom's
location: Tucson, AZ
This is a New Mexican style Mexican food restaurant. I had no idea I would LOVE New Mexican style Mexican food so much! Seriously, the chile relleno is seriously delicious! Everything else we got was good too. The enchiladas, tacos, everything! It was all good. I would most definitely go back to this restaurant again and again! The pricing is comparable to any other Mexican restaurant you'd go to. About 8-10 bucks for a combo platter I believe. Super awesome! And the service was great. The waitress that took care of us was ridiculously sarcastic and funny. It was a great experience!

Culver's

Culver's
location: Tucson, AZ
We had heard that this restaurant was really good so we decided to go check it out. YUMMY. They make what they call "butter burgers". Basically they toast the bun in butter before they make your burger. It is incredibly delicious. We loved the milkshake and burgers both. Everything was soooo good.We will definitely be going back. The prices were average I believe. Probably about 3 dollars for a burger, tack on a little more for the fries and 3 to 4 bucks for the milk shakes. They make fresh frozen yogurt daily, it's sooo yummy. MMmm... I'm salivating.

El Molinito

El Molinito
location: Tucson, AZ
If you're looking for cheap Mexican, this is the place for you! Looking for delicious Mexican? It's definitely not the right place for you... The mild salsa is a can of crushed tomatoes... Basically. But, you get a ton of food for your money. I would go back for the tamales, THOSE were yummy. Everything else mediocre at best. But really? For 3-5 bucks a plate, you could do worse. We ordered WAY more food than we needed thinking that a couple tamales and couple enchiladas would be just right. Turns out we were wrong, it was just right for 4 people. :)

We LOVED this restaurant. The food was delish. The prices were fair. The portions were perfect. Yes. We love it. We will be going back. A LOT. This restaurant is just FABULOUS! Okay. They serve pretty much everything under the sun. In the mood for Italian? check. Burgers? check. Seafood? check. You name it. They've got it. Okay, not EVERYTHING. But more than enough!
