LaBeau's Burgers and Shakes

They have GREAT fries. The burger we tried was good enough for us to go back and try it out again! They also have other dishes like Hawaiian food, chicken cordon bleu... We haven't tried anything but their burgers and shakes but the shakes and fries are a greasy heaven! You definitely get your money's worth here! It's a good price for what you get. About 5 dollars per burger I believe? Did I mention we love the fries? :)

This movie is based on a true story and it is absolutely adorable! Russ and I had never even heard of it before but I picked it up at the library and we LOVED it! Seriously. It is definitely quirky and the main characters are what make it so, but it is a great story about finding yourself and learning to love those around you, even if they are a little different. :)

This movie is very cute because it shows two very solid, cute marriage relationships. You see how supportive they are of one another and it is a lot of fun to see that in a movie! It doesn't happen very often. They do play on the edge of being appropriate occasionally throughout the movie when it shows the couples making out... But overall, the film is very fun and appropriate. PLUS they are constantly making food that looks DELICIOUS. We enjoyed it a lot even if it did make us STARVING!

Seasonal Cookies

Old-Fashioned Soft Pumpkin Cookies

Ingredients:

• 2 1/2 c flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 1/2 c sugar
• 1/2 c butter, softened
• 1 c Pumpkin Puree
• 1 large egg
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• Glaze (recipe follows)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.
2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. 
3. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. 
4. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.
5. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until edges are firm. 
6. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over cookies.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
• 3 tablespoons milk
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in small bowl until smooth.
