Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 3 Cups flour
- 2 T. + 2 tsp. sugar
- 4 ½ tsp. baking powder
- ¾ tsp. cream of tartar
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 ½ sticks cold butter or margarine
- ¾ cup milk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Directions:
- Sift together in a bowl the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar.
- With a fork, blend in the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles cornmeal, then stir in the egg and milk.
- Turn dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead dough lightly once of twice and pat into a ¾-inch thick round.
