My Review: I really enjoyed "The Princess Academy" the first time I read it. The second time I didn't enjoy it as much. It was more geared toward a younger audience than I remembered, but still pretty good. So I whipped out this new book right after finishing "The Princess Academy" for the second time and I thought it was pretty good... Although not as good as the first. It had a few things that were a little too over the top for me... The whole speaking through the rocks thing was just a little too overdone. But I enjoyed watching Miri grow up a bit and not be held back by her size or father. She gets an education, struggles with an old and a new crush, and tries to figure out who she is and what she believes in. She needs to decide what's worth fighting for and what's not. It's time for little Miri to grow up and determine where she wants to live, how she wants to live, and who she wants a future with. It was a nice story. Cute and different.
