Just Another Homestyle Meal

Meatloaf
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2/3 c. fine dry bread crumbs or 2 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c finely copped onion
  • 2 T snipped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried leaf sage, oregano, or basil, crushed
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef, ground lamb, or ground pork
  • 1/4 c ketchup
  • 2 T packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 T sweet chili sauce
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl combine eggs and milk; stir in bread crumbs, onion, parsley, salt, sage, and pepper. Add ground meat; mix well. Lightly pat mixture into a loaf pan.
  3. Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until internal temperature is 160 degrees. Spoon off fat. In a small bowl combine ketchup, brown sugar, sweet chili sauce, and mustard; spread over meat. Bake for 10 more mins. Let stand 10 mins before cutting into slices.
